The compact Sungai sofa owes its timeless beauty to its simple design and the use of high-quality natural materials. The seat is woven from robust seagrass that can withstand heavy loads, while the frame is made from leftover branches of the teak tree that are otherwise not used in furniture production. This creates the charming appearance with the not quite regularly shaped legs and crossbars, which are a sustainable alternative to other types of wood.
We deliberately chose not to use a lacquer finish to emphasize the natural color of the wood and its small imperfections. The result is a piece of furniture that not only gives your room a natural elegance, but is also practical. Sungai is versatile: place it in front of your bed, in the hallway or wherever you want to sit. For example, it helps you and your family put on shoes, but can also be used as a special console or side table.

Our sofas are made from vegetable fibres. They therefore smell and feel wonderfully like nature.
What is commonly called 'seagrass' by basket makers is not actually an aquatic plant, but a small, palm-like plant that is widespread on sandy beaches in the tropics of Asia. The leaves of the plants, which are often grown by people, are separated, cut into strips, dried and then processed by hand.
