Syailendra is a simple basket made of banana fibre. The untreated material has a minimalist appearance that harmonizes perfectly with Scandinavian living styles and fits particularly well in homes with lots of greenery.
The basket is available in three different sizes - so there is the right variant for every need. Syailendra, for example, can be used very flexibly as a storage space, plant basket or laundry basket.

Main material: banana fiber
Our baskets are made from vegetable fibers. They smell and therefore feel wonderfully like nature.
Banana fibers are the fibers from the layered trunks of banana trees used in agriculture. The intense brown color occurs naturally when the fibers are dried in the sun for about a week. The individual strips are then rolled into the characteristic, approximately 6 mm thick strands. Only old, dying banana trees are used for this material. This gives these crops a second life as a dimensionally stable and robust raw material for many handmade baskets here at Soeji.

This basket is handmade in Java, Indonesia.
When selecting our local producers, we attach great importance to fair pay and good working conditions. In the factories where we buy our goods, we only work with mature and experienced craftsmen. No harmful chemicals are used in the production process. Because all work steps are done by hand, the production process hardly generates any greenhouse gas emissions. We ensure all this through regular site visits and permanent personal contact with the companies.
